About our Sports Doctors

Our sports doctors have a special interest in sports medicine and injuries, and are experienced in medical conditions affecting people and families of all ages. We are able to consult on short-term acute illnesses, as well as chronic, long-term conditions such as arthritis, diabetes and heart disease.

Undertaking ongoing professional development with the latest research and techniques, our sports doctors are involved with a number of sports clubs and organisations at all levels of competition providing medical support services. Some of our partners include:

Weekend Injury Clinic

Weekend sports and activities can sometimes lead to broken bones and fractures, concussion, cuts and lacerations, joint pain, and muscle strains and sprains. Our Weekend Injury Clinic is open year-round to treat sports and orthopaedic injuries.

Diet & Nutrition

Olivia Warnes is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) and Accredited Sports Dietitian who translates scientific nutrition information into practical dietary advice tailored to suit your health and lifestyle with her dietary services.

Psychology Services

Sports, performance, exercise and general psychology services are available at our Stepney Healthcare Hub with Consultant Psychologist Geof Boylan-Marsland.

 

Affiliated Services

A full suite of radiology services are available onsite at Dr Jones & Partners. Clinpath offers a comprehensive range of routine and emergency tests. TerryWhite Chemmart provide clinical pharmacy services and medicines. Three Sons Espresso serves top notch coffee and food.

Sportsmed Service - Sports Doctors - Prevention

Prevention

Our sports doctors encourage health assessments and preventative care planning together with health education to patients. We also strongly support routine testing and immunisation to detect early diseases and illness.

We are equipped to administer prescription and specialist medicine along with the full range of vaccines including Fluvax.

Treatment

Our sports doctors often see and attend to patients presenting with the following:

  • Sports and orthopaedic injuries (broken bones, concussion, cuts and lacerations, fractures, joint pain, muscle strains and sprains)
  • Short-term acute illnesses (asthma, bronchitis, chest pain, flu, respiratory infection)
  • Chronic, long-term conditions (arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, osteoporosis)
  • Men’s and women’s health issues (prostate, testosterone, menstruation, menopause).

Treatments such as DolorClast radial shockwave therapy are also available to our patients. DolorClast therapy is a safe and non-invasive treatment for soft tissue conditions.

Rehabilitation

Casting, splinting and mobility devices such as crutches and walking frames, to assist with the rehabilitation of broken bones and fractures are provided by our sports doctors. We also offer regular guidance and support to help you recover from injury or surgery.
